H13 Project- Allor Pothe (AP) Project

In Bangladesh, services for female drug users and sex partners of drug users are currently in its infant stage. However through the UNODC-ROSA funded H13 Project, AMIC was able to establish a female drop-in centre located in Joydevpur. For these stigmatized groups in society, the centre provides counseling, informal education, vocational training, primary health care and STI services and support groups. Beneficiaries are able to bathe, rest, cook and participate in recreational activities in a safe and comfortable environment. Referrals are also made for VCT, further medical treatment and drug treatment for rehabilitation. Staff at the centre is involved in raising the awareness of drug abuse and HIV to beneficiaries and also the wider community.
