Discussion Meeting with Local Government Division

Local Government Division under Ministry of Local Govt. Rural Development and Cooperatives organized a discussion meetingon roles & responsibilities of Local Govt. to achieve the target of “Tobacco Free Bangladesh by 2040” at it’s conference room, Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka on 08 August’2018 with the support of ACD, AID Foundation, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, YPSA, CTFK, The Union and Bloomberg Philanthropies. The Honorable Senior Secretary of LGD Mr. Dr. Jafar Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting. Mr. IqbalMasud, Head of Health Sector gave the welcome speech and moderated the whole session. Many decisions were taken including develop a common guideline on tobacco control issue for all City Corporations / Municipalities and Union Praised through formation a Committee and sending notice to allocate budget for tobacco control activities. At the end of the meeting No Smoking Signage was also handed over to the Senior Secretary of the LGD.
