Training Workshop held for Authorized Officer on Enforcement Guideline

On 28th March 2017, training was organized by National Tobacco Control Cell under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the support of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) & Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids (CTFK) in the conference room of Bangladesh Medical Association. The training was inaugurated by Roxana Quader, Additional Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The authorized officers of National Tobacco Control Cell, Senior Health Education Officers and Sanitary Officers of Civil Surgeon Office, Zonal Executive, Executive Magistrates and Sanitary Inspectors of Dhaka City Corporations (South & North), Labor Inspectors of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments under Ministry of Labor and Employment, Executive Magistrate of DC Office Dhaka and Sanitary Inspector of Savar Municipality were attended the training. On the other hand, Mr. Mohammad Ruhul Quddus, Joint Secretary & Coordinator of National Tobacco Control Cell (NTCC) was chaired the program and Mr. Saraf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Chief Executive Officer of Saver Municipality, Mr. Syed Mahbubul Alam, Technical Advisor of the Union and Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman Bhuiyan, Grants Manager of CTFK were attended the workshop as panel speakers and gave a brief speech on how the authorized officers play active role to implement enforcement guideline of Tobacco Control Law 2005 in their working area. Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Additional Secretary of Cabinet Division presented the key note paper with power point presentation on Tobacco Control Law and enforcement guideline, the roles and responsibilities of authorized officers. Mr. Md. Mukhlesur Rahman, Assistant Director & Project Coordinator of DAM Tobacco Control Program gave welcome speech and moderated the whole program.
