Peer Volunteer Training Held

Peer Volunteers are working inside prison for helping prisoners in several areas including identifying prisoners for counseling, providing information on drug treatment, withdrawal management, general health, HIV/AIDS, TB etc. They provide support to Rehabilitation Supervisors cum Counselors. The peer volunteer group is formed by the Prison Authority comprising 20 members. Two peer volunteer trainings have been completed in May at Dhaka Central Jail, Keraniganj and Kashimpur Central Jail-II under Improvement of the Real Situation of Overcrowding in Prisons (IRSOP) project.
