Meena Bazar fined Tk.100, 000 (one lac) for violating the TC Law
Mobile Court Operated By Executive Magistrate Mr. S.M.Ajior Rahman
On 13 June ,2016 Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), Zonal Executive Officer of Zone -5 has operated mobile court in public places (like- super shops, points of sales etc.) at Mohammedpur area in Dhaka. The Zonal Executive Officer of DNCC, Zone -5 (Deputy Assistant Secretary) and Executive Magistrate Mr. S.M.Ajior Rahman has fined to Meena Bazar, Mohammadpur, 77, Asad Avenue, Dhaka a chain shop tk.100,000/ (one lac) for displaying the illegal tobacco products advertisement of BAT company. On the other hand Bangla Bazar super shop removed the tobacco products advertisement before reaching the mobile court team. The Executive Magistrate has also warned the Bangla Bazar super shop authority for not displaying the tobacco products advertisement in future. He said that the fine would be higher if the super shop violating the TC law again. Besides, the Executive Magistrate has accused many points of sales and seized the cigarettes display box during the mobile court operation. It is noted that Dhaka Ahsania Mission sensitized the authority of Dhaka North City Corporation and they have taken initiatives to execute mobile court for implementing the Tobacco Control Law in Dhaka City.
