DNCC committed to allocate budget for implementing TC Law in Dhaka city

To observe ‘World No Tobacco Day 2019’ DAM and DNCC jointly organized a discussion meeting on progress of implementation of tobacco control law and future action with the support of CTFK on 30th May 2019 at the DNCC Conference Room at 1.30 pm and the Chairperson of the meeting Chief Health Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Brig. Gen. Md Mominur Rahman Mamun expressed his commitment to allocate budget for tobacco control activities and will be operated more mobile courts under DNCC for TC law violation. He also declared that DNCC will circulate notice to all Zone Offices for operating mobile court at least once in a month. To implement the Tobacco Control Act in Dhaka City, DAM has been implementing various tobacco control activities with Dhaka South and Dhaka North City Corporation since 2013. Dhaka North City Corporation has initiated various measures to control tobacco. This discussion meeting was held to review the progress of the DNCC’s tobacco control initiatives & implementation of tobacco control law & plan the future actions.
