
Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Asaduzzaman Khan MP, inaugurated the year-long events planned for celebrating 30 years of anti-drug activities of Dhaka Ahsania Mission on 22 February 2020, Saturday at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology in Dhaka. Inspector General of Prisons, Brigadier General AKM Mustafa Kamal Pasha and Additional Director General, Department of Narcotics Control, Sanjoy Kumar Chowdhury (Additional Secretary) were present as Special Guests on the occasion. Vice-Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Professor Mohammad Fazli Ilahi also spoke on the occasion. Director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Health Sector, Mr Iqbal Masud delivered the welcome address while President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission, Kazi Rafiqul Alam presided over.
It is to be noted that Dhaka Ahsania Mission has been working for 62 years contributing in various socio-development sectors as well as prevention and control of drug use through Addiction Management and Integrated Care (AMIC), which is stepping into its 30th year in 2020. The celebration of this achievement began with the Minister unveiling the activity calendar with more than 60 events focusing on anti-drug issues. Special commemorative coat pins and diaries were launched on the occasion. Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan asked the Health Sector staffs to cut the cake with him to motivate them for continuing the good work. Two journalists – Mr. Najmul Sayeed from electronic media (Television) and Ms. TaslimaTamanna from print media, were awarded for their outstanding contributions in anti-drug media activities during the program.
