Outstanding Contribution in Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation DAM receives 1st prize

Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has received first prize for its outstanding contribution in drug treatment and rehabilitation. The award was handed over yesterday (28 June 2016) at a ceremony held at Osmani Memorial Auditorium on  the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Honorable Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs Mr. Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, MP was present as Chief Guest and handed over the award to the Deputy Director and Head, Heath Sector of DAM Mr. Iqbal Masud.

Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has selected Dhaka Ahsania Mission for this prize considering the healthy environment of the treatment centers, specialist doctors, professional staffs, modern and evidence based treatment approach and other facilities for the clients. One crest, certificate and 30,000/-tk (thirty thousand only) have given as prize.

Honorable Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee, Ministry of Home Affairs Mr.Tipu Munshi, MP and Honorable Senior Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Dr. Md. Mozammel Haque Khan was present as Special Guests. Directorate General (DG), Department of Narcotics Control Khandaker Rakibur Rahman has delivered the welcome address in the program.

It is mentionable that Dhaka Ahsania Mission has been implementing anti drug activities since 1990 and providing evidence based drug treatment service to drug users since 2004. At present, Dhaka Ahsania Mission is operating three drug treatment and rehabilitation centers in Gazipur and Jessore for male drug users and Dhaka for female drug users.
